The Scottish town of Armadale in West Lothian was blessed with two greyhound tracks in the past. The first to open was on Volunteer Grounds and built around the perimeter of the Football ground. The independently run track was situated at 3° 42' W 55° 54' N and first opened for racing on 3rd October 1936. The track ran sprints over 315 yards, standard races over 500 yards, and distance races over 755 yards. |

| Racing continued at the site for just 3 years before the final meeting was held on 16th February 1939. However, the town was not left without a greyhound track because the operation moved just down the road to Bathgate Road. |
